So was he always an asshole? When I was a kid I thought he must be bing bing wahoo happy man but the more I read about the history of nintendo he sounds like a real tool

He's a boomer salaryman who wanted the toy company to become Disney instead of making good games. He got what he wanted is the funny part.

I feel about the same way as you do OP. I've been reading through some old game magazines recently, and now that I'm a lot older I've noticed that some of those signs as well. I don't really know much about the guy. But he definitely seems to be more of a business man, rather than "Hey, let's make fun games!" kind of a guy. I think I read somewhere that he doesn't want to higher gamers either, as apparently gamers sucks at designing games.
