act 3 in TW3 is awful.
The entire main story plot with the wild hunt requires outside knowledge and is just plain uninteresting and bad in general. Completely forgettable compared to the rest of the game too.
The only part I would remotely consider memorable is when you are jumping through to various dimensions with avallach.
Eredin is barely an antagonist, he's certainly not a fleshed out or well developed, interesting character despite having a past with geralt that you need outside knowledge to actually appreciate and understand. They could have at least put in some flashbacks or something to fill in the gaps or at the very least put in some text you could read in game.
obviously reasons of state was rushed as well, it's just a silly ending that undermines the intelligence of the characters and forces you to choose between 2 bad choices.
However, the first act in TW3 and the hunt for Ciri is so good that it redeems everything else in the game. The DLC is also really solid, both of them so you can wash the mediocre taste of the rest of the main story out of your mouth.
