I hadn't pre-ordered anything again until Clair obscur e33.

When the Evolve beta came out I played it to a pulp, and so when the full game released I bought the most expensive edition and every single dlc cosmetic for the game. I must’ve been one of few people to do this, and probably logged 300+ hours into it, but at the time I was hooked. Looking back that was £500+ down the shitter since its non-playable (online) now

I just wish I could have learned these lessons without buying shit games. I almost bought Pokemon Sword and Shield because I really enjoyed even the kinda bad 3DS Pokemon games, but I'm glad I decided to ditch the Pokemon series when I did for obvious reasons.
