I just finished God of War Ragnarok, and instead of saying that the game is amazing (it is), I will talk about what I felt while wrapping up the story.
We must be better. This is the moral I felt the game was conveying. And it hit my feelings so hard thanks to this great acting from every actors, and this amazing realisation.
While being a completely made up story from Norse mythology, it felt so grounded to earth and our actual situation as humans. Odin being a political businessman, getting the most out of everyone without caring for anyone’s feelings, getting as much ressources from every realms as possible without caring for the consequences, lying and having no moral just to “look good”. This depicts our politicians and leaders so well. Kratos, Athreus and their friends fighting for a better world, defending their ideas and other people. All of this while trying not to do the same mistakes, even if this makes them lose (die).
We must be better, we must stand up for our world, we must fight for our dying earth, we must defend those in needs, we must work so our children can enjoy this amazing world. This is crazy that a game makes me worship a non existing character more than our actual leaders/politicians.
Thanks for reading, I wanted to share how this game hit my feelings and my ideas of our actual world. And if you feel the same, please share this message, we must be better, because if we are not, there will be no more world to share to our children.
