Understand how the game works by ignoring the game tutorials and reading up a wiki or watching a video instead and you will not only do well in combat, but also have fun actually following a strat instead of shitting out random blade combos.

Just focus the wires and try to set up orbs so you can burst it down once it gets to around half hp.
I remember that fight as one of the first checks to see if you're actually paying attention to shit, you can heal through it but that's relying way too much on the shitty ai.

This >>723919035. Seriously the in game tutorial is so bad. It either doesn't adequately explain how the battle system works or is just straight up wrong sometimes. For example

>hmm, the stat screen says "Auto Attack" so that must determine the strength of my Auto Attacks and nothing else

This is wrong. It's more accurate to call it your Strength stat. Your Auto attack stat determines the strength of all your physical based attacks. But if you didn't look that up, you'd never know

I don't think it's cheating. You only get the bonus EXP doing side quests, and for the most part, the side quest rewards in this game aren't great. You might as well reap the rewards of your hard work doing side quests. Also, the game is easy enough as is.

Zeke's fine. He can already do the self combo with dark.
If you aren't playing Nia yourself, might as well remove her additional blades so she can focus on spamming healing arts and break on enemies you can break.
Rex is always better with Mythra due to the crit healing strat and foresight.
Morag is only getting dragged down by Electra, and Dagas isn't that good until you unlock his true affinity chart. Plus she just functions better with solo Brighid because otherwise she keeps resetting her passive damage stack.

Leveling up your unique blade's skill chart is much more important. You will only realize this 200 hours in, but if you get started early you can save yourself the trouble!

Some levels are locked behind enemies in earlier areas, so if you don't clear them early, your blade wont level up. Genius system, I know.

Xenoblade 2 is unironically the "it gets good 400 hours in" meme.

That being said if you know all the games mechanics and do a replay, it can be pretty fun. Genuinely still one of my favorite games ever, despite its many flaws. I imagine Monolith are working on a full blown remake rather than just cranking out a Switch 2 patch, because there is a LOT of QOL stuff they could add.

Seeing as how the game still looks doo doo on emulator, it's a shame we can't play it in its full glory yet. But man I am waiting for that day

Playing Tiger Tiger over and over is too much and only stays entertaining for so long. It's an unreasonable amount of time investment that falls outside of the core gameplay for everyone else.

Xenoblade 2 was handled by a B team and made alongside Xenoblade X. It was during a time when they were struggling with the transition to HD development, but despite that they cranked out a pretty full-fledged game. But boy was it rough around the edges at first, especially before they added more QOL patches. Yes, you think the game is rough now but it used to be way worse before they patched it.

If I remember they didn't expect every person to try and 100% every single unique blade, which is retarded because of course everyone is gonna do that. I think each unique blade's missions was probably handled by a different intern or some shit. They had different artists design many different blades. The entire project was all over the place

I'm a fan for games within games, especially arcade style mini games. I think Tiger Tiger is actually a pretty interesting game, and I like that it also has secret areas and stuff. But it gets old doing it over and over again.

The DLC winds up giving you a bunch of poppi currency but it doesn't really help lol. They could flesh out Tiger Tiger and add more stuff to it to make it a more fun game, or reduce the restrictions/give other ways to get the poppi upgrades.

You also had a lot of poppi's ugrades locked behind various chests in the world or unique enemies, which makes more sense, but it could be tedious trying to find some stuff or missing a treasure chest or whatever.

Xenoblade 3 disappointed me too, but I actually think it's still a really interesting game. What disappoints me about 3 though is the battle system feels toned down, they kind of fucked up chain attacks, and the environmental design is shit in most of the areas compared to the previous three games. 3 has warmed up to me though, I've replayed it quite a few times and there's a lot of really impressive things about it, such as the character animations, especially facial animations, good voice acting, the designs are badass for the ouroboros. I'd say the plot is really interesting and fucked me up way more than the plot did for 2 or 1 which is saying something. The game somewhat lacks an identity because it's a mishmash of all the stuff from 1 and 2. I feel it leans too hard into the characters/enemies and systems from those games. It's a novel concept, but the execution was flawed. It's a more well rounded game, but it doesn't hit the same highs as the previous two, even if the story has some dramatic moments, good choregraphy and writing.

If it's a xenoblade game and the environment is lacking, that hurts the experience. Also having copy and paste colonies instead of full blown cities is disappointing. Yeah I like "the city", and it's a pretty cool fucking city, but that's really the only one asides from the big Agnes base in the ocean or the castle town, which you don't really get to explore till the end of the game and feels like a ghost town even after you free Melia

Takahashi didn't want to do yet another Xenoblade and wanted to do another project, but Nintendo insisted that Monolith Soft do another Xenoblade.

Narratively the game has to forcefully justify its existence in relation to the two prior games (and does prop up a satisfying scenario), but the game is held back by the vast majority of the cast being restricted to a specific age range and limiting its appeal, with most of the extended story involving visiting another base camp of child soldiers.

Whilst the game has to introduce mechanics and returning features from Xenoblade 1 and 2, and streamlines them in the process, it does manage to offer depth in other places through the 7th hero and the classes system, and is balanced well enough that you can work on promoting every class for every character and unlock permanent skills for each.

It was the best selling game and there's more that needs to be done to it than can just be fixed in one simple little patch, that's the problem.

That patch is going to have to fix a lot of shit, and if it's taking this long for them to do it, it's going to be a pretty comprehensive patch that's going to give the game a full make over to the point it might as well be a remake. There's no way they're letting Xenoblade 2 get left the way it is when it's the most popular one they've made.

If they re-release it, that's more money for Nintendo and Monolith as well.

If by the generic coommon blades, not necessarily there are valid builds you can make with them, and they get random battle skills that can be useful for specific purposes.
For example, if you have a very high amount of Treasure Sensor, you can use this to farm item drops by completing Break > Topple > Launch > Smash combos. There's one specific late-game enemy that you want to avoid killing as it's perfect for item farming, and it cannot respawn.

I'm guessing that option wasn't in the original either? Man I don't know how they expected people to get anywhere without being killed. I left that option on until chapter 4 was when I remembered it was an option. Made the game more playable but also took out a lot of soul. Don't know why they dropped the different aggro types from 1 and X.

Let me put it this way: extra blades aren't a straight update and that's especially true on characters controlled by AI party members, as it makes them less consistent at their roles.
What they do matters a lot, both the element(for blade combos) and the arts they can use(for healing or driver combo support), or passive buffs if any(e.g. Mythra's foresight, Dagas's damage boost).

A good example for this is indeed Rex himself with Mytrha, if he switches out then the entire party loses the buff from foresight until he switches back. So ideally you don't want that to happen often, if at all. Rex is generally stronger just sitting on Mythra all the time.

I do remember a lot of that, but to be fair, a lot of those are actually valid complaints.

Xenoblade 2 has always been a divisive game, not everyone is gonna like it. But the vitriol got even larger with 3 to a point where I would say it was just artificial, and now nobody even bothers trying to talk about the games because schizos make it nigh impossible. People DID discuss Xenoblade 2 back in the day, even with the rampant shitposting. But with 3 it was pure schizophrenia, there was no real discussion left to be had.

>>723923571
All it takes is one ban evading schizo's relentless mental illness and spamming to push away the good posters. I've seen it happen many, many times over. Now people don't even bother, but he can't get over it. This is his life. He's a shit stirrer but there's hardly any shit left to stir, so he'll squeeze out whatever he can and stir it himself if no one else will feed him.
