It's modern XI, just pay to change race into a female if you're on retail or use plastic surgeon plugin to change it on your end of the screen if not.

I tried FFXI a few years ago and it was fun at first, but I completely lost interest once I hit the level caps. If you want to keep progressing, you’re forced to go to that old man NPC and do his random “limit break” quests every few levels. It kills the pacing and just feels like busywork instead of actual content.
On top of that, the expansions are all over the place. The story doesn’t flow well at all, and instead of feeling like one big adventure, it just comes across as disjointed and hard to follow.
Anyway, I always wanted to get to Lilisette’s story, but looks like I’ll never see it. Shame, since I actually liked her a lot in the GBF crossover
