I was a little miffed when I bought a new xbox series x controller and saw that it took batteries. But now that I know you can buy battery packs for cheap, I'm kinda down with it. Keeps the controller cost a little bit cheaper and if you think you need it, just buy it. It's pretty smart.

I've owned a gamesir controller and it felt cheap and small like a typical off brand Chinese controller. It felt really responsive though. I've owned multiple gulikit devices including a controller and they're a way more premium brand imo. Even their cheap stuff feels more premium than gamesir. Gamesir might have improved in the year and a half or so since I got my controller though as the controller space is moving rapidly.

I'm a big fan of replaceable stick *toppers* but it's more that I like the idea of them than they have any real use-case. I love the Dualsense Edge stick modules offering old style domed caps, I absolutely abhor the Dualsense Edge itself and the idea of sticks as a service.
