When I was 13 I saw pokemon omega ruby for the 3DS and I asked my dad if I could get it, he told me he could buy it if I swore I studied hard, when we got to the store I changed my mind and asked him to buy me pic related, I used to be a very retarded kid, its a pretty mediocre game and super short, still one of my biggest life regrets

How dare you describe that Adventure Time game as ''pretty mediocre''. It's a short game, I'll give you that, but it's enjoyable, at least decent.

I wish I got Art Academy as a kid and Trauma Team like I wanted.

it's a fun game, but it's 4 hours and the only replay value is another 4 hours after you've unlocked Hard Mode from beating the game

Monster Hunter 3U for the 3DS.
My friend in HS hyped the shit out of it and I asked for it for my birthday.
I barely even played it because I despised the camera controls so much. I still have the game and even picked up all the free download stuff before 3DS online shut down but I've never bothered with anything MH since.

As someone who bought 3U blind having never played a MH game or knowing what they're about and hating it... I tried World and think it's phenomenal. I tried Rise after and think it's really fun, and then Wilds which I think is mid, but all are better than 3U. I was expecting a standard JRPG with like a story or something, put 8 hours into it, the game asked me to kill a monster I already killed, and I traded it to Gamestop to get enough money to buy McDonald's. But the other games were fun as fuck and actually give you a better sense of progress even if their stories are still barebones. Multiplayer is the point of these games though.

I mean yeah, I did get filtered. I prefer dungeon crawlers. Same friend sold me Persona Q because he knew I loved Etrian Odyssey and I liked that a lot more than wrestling with the camera in MH.

I had the same experience with 3u. Then when 4u came out I got fomo and stupidly bought it and ended up loving it. I played 4u for over 700 hours. It feels like verticality was the missing ingredient that mh needed to be complete.

Animal Crossing New Horizons
For context as a kid I wanted to play New Leaf but I had to choose between it or mario party 8 and 9 (bundled) and since I have siblings I thought that having 2 games that were multiplayer instead of one singleplayer game was the better pick, so I missed out on it
Then i got NH on release and now I still regret seeing it on my shelf. Absolute piece of shit game

I actually beat that game in one day. It was okay, not enough to replay it. Actually learned it was Zelda 2 later on and beat that one as well.
One game I do regret is Sonic Lost World for the Wii U. I don't know why, but got it for my birthday so I felt even worse since my parents spent money on it. I always lost interest in the first world. I guess it never felt rewarding for a Sonic game.

Same, never got New Leaf until the 3DS's lifespan ended. Missed the height of popularity for Spotpass gifts, streetpass content, meeting online randoms, sharing builds on miiverse. I also have siblings and the local co-op would have been the best during those times. Granted pretendo allows a majority of this, but not much of the fanbase is there.

i heard this was very short and not worth the money but i still wanted it so i asked for it as a gift. didn't regret it, decent game.
but in retrospect there were several better games out by that point i should've got instead. i didn't get to play many 3DS games until CFW took off in 2015.
