i liked the entire original trilogy and even hey! pikmin since it knew its place as a noncanon spinoff and even THAT had a pretty interesting cast of creatures and worldbuilding that i honestly would not have minded half as much if it were partially canonized. i dunno whats up with so many people here who just scroll and make half baked reactions, slow down.

for example, pikmin 3 had a completely new cast of characters, and 2 pikmin types were mysteriously absent, but there were many things that could have explained that, and the original captains were still present, had an important place in the story, and didnt fiddle too much with what was going on beforehand. it was an addition to the ongoing story, not a rewrite, and not completely 100% faithful either, which is a pretty good balance.
in pikmin 4, however, every single plotline from any of the previous games has been scrapped or severely changed, and a large chunk of the worldbuilding was removed or just flat out ignored too, and the writing doesnt even make up for it either because they never elaborate or explore the implications of all the new things they bring up i.e. rock pikmin actually parasitized rocks!

i sincerely cant run out of things to say about this its kind of embarrassing especially considering the amount of consoomers out there who will say "why you complaining so much lol its a good game (beats it once and never picks it up again)"

i actually kinda enjoyed LM3 and even go back to it every now and then but i also havent really thoroughly played the first one, what are the differences like outside of the obvious slime clone and extra tools and ghost whipping
