I wouldn't.
There's no "fixing" Kratos. If there's one thing the awful story in 3 got it right is that Kratos being alone after all the shit he pulled is a travesty to life itself.
Kratos was a born an angry kid, had a terrible childhood he was basically tortured into becoming an elite warrior, then spent years years as a warmongering general only to then salve himself to a war god, which just meant he spend more years activity like a complete murderous lunatic before he murdered his wife and child
A guy like that doesn't get a happy ending, a peaceful life, a new love and a some new kids
If you want to tell a new GoW story, tell one about the consequences of Kratos and his actions, but that would require a modicum of talent and originality
