It was a needed correction. all the skins are way overvalued because of money laundering, and valve will have to eventually fix this so the collapse is inevitable.

and yes, other than some Dota updates that were nice, I have no effectivelly played a single new game or new game feature I like from Valve in the past 10 years. They just no longer make games worth playing. CS2 is quite literally like Cs 1.6 in many ways and Dota is the only exception of a somewhat improving product.

The money was all hypothetical and would never be fully realized anyways. It was a pointless system that was exploited by nons, and was being used as NFTs on the black market and on gambling sites.
Now, players might actually try and buy cool knives and gloves. Theyre going to sell more crates and trades will actually happen in game and not on some black market
