Not much different to the plethora of monopoly money schemes being run today, the only difference is that people didn't anticipate that Valve doesn't give a fuck about their made up meme economy

In all these years I've never understood Counter Strikes skins. The whole thing seems like a money laundering/Ponzi scheme. The third party gambling site, the speculation market, It's all artificial scarcity at any minute valve could flip a switch and flush all your "investment" down the toilet by giving everyone the skin to say nothing about SC multiplayer one day dying off. If you invested real money in this it's your own fault, it was always a shady investment.

Why are people pretending this is different to any other speculative market? The "money lost" during a market crash doesn't mean your assets lost value. It means it wasn't that valuable to begin with. The only time you "lose" value is when you press sell for less than you initially bought for.

>Why are people pretending this is different to any other speculative market?
I don't think anyone is. It's only unique for being run by Valve.

The people that are moaning about it spent real money to acquire the items in the first place. They are sad because they were overleveraged and just now discovered that. The rest of us are laughing at them because they should have understood that before something like this happened.

Theyre the original NFTs. You could hypothetically sell it for a high price, but there arent enough buyers for all of them.
They sell them to illegal gambling sites for the chinese to use, and people trade them to buy stuff on some black markets.

There never should have been trust in the market, online video game markets aren't regulated. Only an idiot would 6 Big Boogey cocks inside her pussy and 12 Big Boogey cock in her Ass dripping cum and x ray and getting Pregnant speculate it. Stupid ass chinese horders manipulating the market caused this by inflating skin prices making it completely nonsensical to enter into a market thats such a big part of the game. Glad they got fucked

Valve really should've warned people or something. They could have announced 6 months ago that changes were coming to the market place with the goal of reducing prices of high cost items and make it less investor friendly and more consumer/gamer friendly

People who put all their finances and future into items in a video game that has no regulation and is at the mercy of the game developer are just evolution at it's course. In the ancient times, they were the ones who died eating the strange mushroom in the forest, so that the whole tribe would know how stupid they were.

It's a Digital Widget(the legal definition not the app) that one person a Valve could make an unlimited supply of with minimum effort at literally no extra cost. If you're comparing them to something like NFTs then yes they are more or less the same. If you're comparing them to the speculative market of any finite unique real world widget like a painting, No they are very different. Valve has always had little to no 3rd party over site because the CFTC/SEF have better things to do than worry about this weird little backdoor marketplace. Any speculative market where one person can control the market is a red flag.

It's funny that every NFT "game" was basically just trying to backwards engineer SC skins market.

Each blanket also requires raw materials to make. The Hudson Bay company was the oldest company in North America until it went under this year and the design is iconic enough, trademarkable and old enough that a generational nostalgic come in to play. So it kind of comparing apples to oranges. I'm not saying the blankets are worth what they're listed at but if you buy it at least you have a blanket and not a skin for a fictional knife.
