Boomillennial here, it was like skydiving into an ocean of green gelatin with no clothes on, and everyone else was there too but they didn't laugh at your penis this time because it wasn't too cold.

for me it's
>you play the mechassault 1 and 2
>you play the battlefront, battlefront 2, star wars episode 3 and lego star wars
>you play the cod finest hour + cod 2 big red one
and then you move to other consoles and PC because it's 2006
Anonymous No.724024975 [Report]
You felt cool when you played on an Xbox because it was significantly more powerful than the PS2 and Gamecube so sometimes it got PC ports the other didn't like DOOM 3, Half-Life 2 and Morrowind. It was the closest you could get to feeling like you were gaming on PC without actually gaming on PC, sort of the like the Neo Geo I guess but not quite as fancy. Having a harddrive and Xbox Live felt very cutting edge

It was the only Xbox that got a decent library for its entire lifespan (the 360 stopped getting games midway through), but it still deserves scorn for introducing the cancers that are paid online and paid DLC, and for replacing Sega.

It had some good games but the controller was too big, Xbox hueg

That was the peak of gaming. Nothing like getting together with your friends on a Saturday night, renting a few movies, ordering a pizza, smoking a few bowls and playing Halo splitscreen.

As a 14 year old the Duke controller was oversized but I didn't care and would swear on my life that it was comfortable and the s controller was for babies.

I lived a block away from a vhq video rental store, $5 for 3 day game rental. It was like every weekend was a steam sale.

I had to replace mine twice. Granted, I smoked in the same room.

The D-Pad was shit for fighting games like Deadly Alliance.

Multiplats were usually best on the Xbox. Hitman 2, Burnout, Conflict: Desert Storm, etc.

You got some Dreamcast ports. I thought Shenmue 2 was fucking rubbish, but I did enjoy Panzer Dragoon.

Exclusives were cool but not great in number, and some of them were disappointing. Fable and Escape From Butcher Bay turned out to be very short and shallow. Brute Force was hyped but quickly forgotten after release on account of its less than stellar quality. Looking back, I think the KOTOR games and Jade Empire were actually its best single-player exclusives. Halo was the best for multiplayer, especially the campaign co-op in the first game.
