The Steam Deck is hands down the best gaming purchase I've made since the Xbox 360.

I like mine but nwoadays it's more like a laptop than a dedicated handheld gaming device, there's so many fucking games that I play that proton doesn't work with. I don't care that they're slop, I play them.

My best purchase was a 2025 Nissan Versa S 5 speed

yeah it's pretty good, it's one of my favorite electronics of all time
honestly the only thing I really want for a Deck 2 is just better performance in general with equivalent or better battery life but that's going to be a couple of years later

The Deck 2 needs to have a bigger screen though.
Also, based GabeN waiting for handheld APUs to make a truly generational leap before developing the Deck 2. 5-10fps more ain’t cutting it. I need 3-5x the performance so we can play 1080p/60+ consistently

Ally z1 extreme can play elden ring at 60fps 900p with vrr for cheaper used on ebay.

Ally z1 extreme is a much better deal as a gaming device and its nearly 2x more powerful.

Even when the deck came out it was below midrange in power for a gaming handheld. The only difference it was $300 cheaper than the chink ones.

Then the deck OLED came out and valve got REALLY greedy. They believe that $650 with tax+tip and a case is worth it for the same power and an OLED screen. They showed their real colors. They are scammers.

For $400 you could build a midrange 1080p gaming PC WITH a RX 580, Ryzen 5500 144hz 100% SRGB freesync monitor AND have the abiltity to upgrade to a 5800X3D and better GPU in the future.

Deck is $380 from valve, It has a shit 60% SRGB gamut washed out screen where reds look orangey, bad colors, 60hz, ghosting, No vrr, low powered.

Ally z1 extreme is $320 used on ebay is 1.8-2X more powerful, 100% SRGB full gamut color screen, VRR, 120hz
