there isn't any successful ones that truly stick to the "horror" it's all slop aimed towards impressionable young minds that got hooked on trash like five nights at freddy's or baldi's basics

Understanding that actual horror is fleeting and the game needs something to engage the player after the scares have passed. For survival horror it was the challenge and speedrunning autism, for Slenderman and early FNAF it was youtuber jumpscare bait, for later FNAF and mascot horror it's apparently people wanting to fuck the monsters or something idk I never go in those threads
Mascot horror is overhated. I don't see anything wrong with a series that can appeal to both fans of horror & true crime and fans of mascot platformers & cartoons. To me that sounds like an overwhelming success.

You know that meme comic about the woman getting turned on by watching Jason murder people?
Thats y’all. Youre just as bad as women.

to be successful is quite easy, just make something that appeals to the masses, something made to be watched in a stream or in a youtube video
for a good horror game, now that's the catch, the terror can't be spontaneously created, it must be forged within one's mind, horror is inherently subjective and putting this in a game is extremely difficult without modifying it
And yes, I want to fuck a monster girl
