we just finished watching the Cell Saga last week. my brother is in 6th grade and he's watching Dragon Ball with me for the first time. he asked me if we can watch it together and I said yes. We watched OG Dragon Ball in a fan made edit that cuts the filler (Dragon Ball Recut) and then we moved on to Kai. We watch it on my laptop so he thought the Cell arc was the last arc since he noticed that episode 98 in Kai was the last episode in the file. I lied to him and told him he's right but I also told him we will watch Dragon Ball again which made him confused. He doesn't know that the Buu saga exists yet. Of course we're not gonna watch the Kai version of Buu, we're switching to Z now.
after the end of every arc I ask him to rank the climax fights of each arc in order from worst to best. When we finished Namek he said the fight against Frieza was the best one we watched thus far. and I thought it would remain that way after we finished the Cell saga. Because I enjoyed the Frieza fight more than the Cell games which still good but not as good. However when I asked the question to my brother after the Cell saga ended, to my surprise, he said that the Cell games were the best climax fight we've watched thus far. I asked him if it was better than the fight against Frieza on namek (which is perfect in the Kai version) and he still said yes and affirmed that the Cell games were better than even Namek's climax fight.
we might start watching the Buu saga this weekend but if we wont then the next weekend.
