/v/ only turned on Persona 5, because it was insanely popular with normalfags. There was once a time where everyone here fucking loved it.

A very slow start. Not at problem the first time you play, as you're also being introduced to new characters and story, but in later playthroughs it's a dull couple of hours before you get to make some meaningful choices.

Same flaw as P3 and P4, the games assume the player has the memory of a goldfish. Even 10 hours in and it'll still be repeating very basic plot points like they are great revelations despite it being the 20th time they've brought it up.
That and the endless railroading and tutorials, Mona got memed for a reason but all the games are guilty of never letting the player actually play the fucking game or make any decisions. I can only assume their intended audience if Japanese zoomers are even more incapable of independent thought than our own.

I quit after 10h because I was told this was a jrpg, while it's obviously closer to a visual novel. The music was amazing, but the highschool scenario/weird Japanese nostalgia is not for me. Also the fighting system might be the most simple and stupid I've seen in any jrpg ever.

Mona forcing you to go to bed is the games way of forcing you to balance your resources. You have to plan and think ahead on how you can optimize the time you're given to max your stats, social links, and side quests. As you get further into the game, the game gives you resources to gain more time. Tae's SP and HP items let you complete dungeons in one night, Kawakami's messages let you go out when you're tired, Sojiro trusting you lets you go out at night, Chihaya lets you complete social links 2x as fast etc.

The only thing I'll give you is the OST is easily 15/10. Literally no debate and anybody saying otherwise is coping or seething. That being said it's nowhere near a masterpiece. Saying this you're either underage or a complete newfag when it comes to JRPGs, either way it's embarrassing. After playing through the game 3 times and 100%ing, I can say it's a 7/10.

The time between the palace countdowns is basically a visual novel and I dread each time I finish a fun gameplay section with life sim stuff and jrpg dungeons just to have to read for what feels like hours each time with no breaks.
It would be better if they rebalanced the life sim stuff so you could still do things.

Too popular. The game is great, often hard to pick between it and 3 for persona. I think the base game could be a bit harder and guns could be better. I also don't like the story changes in Royal. Otherwise though, it's a classic.
