With Steam Marketplace, they collectively literally decided pixels were worth X, so they must have Y value, so then they must have a real-world counterpart when indeed it did not. Then they thought that it'd be as secure as any sort of well-established tender, which it was not. Then they thought that they could build equity on X, when they could not.
