Why do game developers destroy their carefully balanced game systems to appeal to a tiny minority of no-life 1000-hours-after-1-month-of-playing hardcore players, who don't care about their design philosophy and just want a harder challenge, which necessitates further future patches once they have figured out the new "meta"?

I had a feeling this was gonna happen, I've seen it happen way too often where games get the fun nerfed out of a game and made everything feel shit and bad. Why does every strategy that works have to be gutted?
