Well
I didn't play any horror games this October
But I did level an Alliance character and Duskwood was one of the zones I hit. That still counts, right?
Nostalgia is a cruel trick your mind plays, luring you into a false sense of comfort by glorifying a past that never truly existed as you remember it, while conveniently erasing the pain, boredom, and failures that were just as real. It chains you to a distorted fantasy, making the present feel like a bleak disappointment in comparison and draining your will to move forward.

Not really, you can still find that fun you had while you were a child in these games, because they don't stop being good once you grow up.

I love horror movies but I can't stand horror games. They're scary for a while but then you get used to the jumpscares and then they lose all tension.
Survival horror games are rarely immersive because they just rely on clumsily gimping your player character and inflating enemy HP so that you waste resources. The whole resource management thing takes me out entirely because I'm way more afraid of a softlock by shooting my gun too much than of any monster in the actual game.
