Do you play a game and think to yourself, wow, a lot of love went into making this?

No, games are made to make money not to be loved. Something being made with love means it's personal and games are never personal because everything is made with a checklist in mind. That's why games can't be art.

What you're saying is true, the game industry is full of corporate bullshit, low wages, burnout, tough deadlines, and even with all that there are people who give it their absolute all working through all that designing, coding, and making experiences

I felt a lot more "creator's love" in Tomato Adventure even if the gameplay was objectively inferior. This feels like "real" AlphaDream moreso than the tighter, yet more sanitized Mario & Luigi RPGs.
