There has been complaining about the female soldiers but it gets you banned on reddit or labelled as sexist in other social media so lots of people stay silent about it too.

The shitty monster energy tier skins are way easier to criticise and it's also specially egregious because DICE themselves declared that the game would have grounded soldiers skins, it seems like to them "grounded soldier" just means tactical outfit skins no matter how stupid the colors, instead of playing as Yujiro Hanma or Katy Perry or some shit, so they thought they could get away with anything as long as they didn't do this.
