On the off chance they do pull it off, it might actually give me a reason to buy an Xbox. The Steam Deck taught me how great a PC with a console dashboard, target hardware, and tons of community support can be.

That being said, I will never buy another Microsoft console or PC ever again because I know how these corpos operate. If they're coming for PC, things are going to get a whole lot worse for us PC gamers. I fully expect them to DMCA Xbox emulators like Nintendo did and then paywall their own proprietary versions behind gamepass.

On the original Xbox it made a lot of sense. It was an edgy name because the original Xbox was marketed as being the edgy console for edgy sci-fi games and they were going for alien aesthetics.

Pretty much. It's an Xbox console/PC hybrid. Meaning that the draw from the next (last?) Xbox will be that it will play literally every single Xbox game available on one device. Apparently, Microsoft has been looking into Xbox emulation, which MIGHT point to them trying to do more with the backwards compatibility with OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games, too.

microsoft is insanely retarded, why didn't they push windows xbox when consoles became PCs, now they are panicking and rushing after steam showed gamers don't even need windows anymore
