I haven't bought a full priced game since $50 was the norm for day 1 releases and on disc DLC did not exist.

$70 games have been normal for a long time, and they're even more expensive because they remove content to pack it on "Deluxe Editions". If you really want to play that game on Day 1, pay up chump, otherwise wait for a sale or pirate.

I'd pay that if games were good. But AAA is gay and lame now, and you don't really need to pay that much for indies and AA games, aka the only ones that have a chance of being worth a shit to play.

70 bucks + 10% tax, so 77 bucks for street fighter. Guess what was a $1 back then? Whoppers from Burger King. Guess how much whoppers are now? $8. So Street Fighter Alpha cost 77 whoppers, but now games only cost like 7 whoppers. Modern games are astronomically cheaper yet zoomies are still bitching.

It is without irony that I say that I don't think I've truly enjoyed a single game that cost more than $40 in the past 5 years other than Elden Ring. I buy less and less of them as time goes on.

We're talking about games, idiot. Because the move to disc meant no more custom chips, the price went down to $40 at the time. Furthermore, games go frequently on sale, so we don't pay the full price, especially on Steam. You will never successfully shill. Why are you sperging so hard if you got nothing to gain? We will never pay what you want.

Yeah but since video games are mostly digital distribution these days, meaning a single copy has no unit cost, AND the market is several times larger than it was when monkey island came out, directly adjusting for inflation makes no sense.
3 copies sold for $20 is better than 1 copy sold for $50 because you're making $60 instead of $50. This is a unique benefit of digital goods.
