Spies vs Mercs is still one of the best multiplayer and unique multiplayer game experiences out there. Only rivalled by an Unreal Tournament 99 mod called Thievery.

Co-op was easily the only good element in Conviction.

Kind of disappointed I missed out on games like Intruder. Did it ever really compare to SC spies vs mercs? I'm obviously never going to buy it now considering it's dead.

I'm in a couple of Discord servers for splinter cell multiplayer matchmaking. It's mostly Chaos Theory but there's a smaller crew that plays and steams Double Agent's version of the multiplayer.

Like, it plays fine in isolation but when I watch it, I just keep thinking about how it'd be so much more fun to just...play Chaos Theory instead. Tripling the game's speed, increasing the number of players from 2x2 to 3x3 and getting rid of all gadgets and customization was not a good direction for Spies vs Mercs.
