They give you a side dungeon, you do it and then you're over leveled, then the entire main dungeon becomes a bad musou game. I just don't understand why these antiquated systems still exist, it's all fake progression that accidentally punishes you while attempting a reward. It's bad game design.
I remember quitting p5 for a similar reason because I accidentally fused some dlc creature or something, it was too strong then the game got too easy and I quit out of boredom. This doesn't usually happen in SMT because they have bullshit difficulty spikes that make leveling appealing

Already on hard, running past everything is boring. I just think it's bad game design. You shouldn't feel bad when you level up or get a strong piece of gear but this eventually happens in all but the most difficult rpgs
