I finished the game yesterday and I still can't believe that [spoilers] the whole plot around the Ankaran Sarcophagus was literally just a huge trolling by Smiling Jack to kill Lacroix and anyone who sided with him, even you lol. What a great character, damn. I also was expecting the Anarchs and Nines do backstab me if I chose their ending but nope, they seemed pretty chill about it. I guess that Nines was the real bro in the whole game, everyone else was just treating you as a pawn and didn't cared if you were killed or not as long as it helped their plans.[/spoilers]

The Anarch's don't have a whole ton in the way of strong allies and never really will because their objectives are flaky and rarely hold up between varying groups. The MC is powerful, so Nines gang would like to have him on their side to continue push-back against the cammies in the area. But it's ultimately still a relationship of reliance, transaction and usage with a thinly veiled layer of camaraderie on top of it. You can think of the difference as between a corporation that will dump you when you aren't useful anymore (Cammies) or a biker gang that feigns apology when they bail on you in a tough spot (Anarchs). I'd recommend questioning Nines belief system even a little bit on the next playthrough and see how immediately he begins to shit on you as though you just insulted his mother. That being said you're right about Jack, he's pretty good. A piece of shit at heart but an endearing piece of shit.

Surpisingly, Strauss is pretty chill as well, especially for a Tremere. Sure, he would very much prefer if your were Camarilla-aligned and Tremere yourself, but given that most Tremere in his place would've just turned you into gargoyle food, he's a real bro.
