As the years pass im starting to believe on the contrary, tf2 will live forever thanks to the hats otherwise it would be just another left 4dead or day of defeat, yeah they are still around but no one cares about them.
Meet your match? Thats what really killed the game, updates went from once a month to once every half a year until jungle inferno, community servers went extinct alongside wacky maps (because even with hats you could still easily find mario kart or ballon race servers), weapon balance went the boring comp way and etc.

Oh yeah the mechanic that THEY COPIED FROM TF2 AND ITS BEEN INGAME FOR YEARS.
On my personal opinion and talking from experience, yes most knifes will tank price but the real valuable ones will skyrocket again once everyone burns out all of the specific case weapons, this change will be good in the long run for the mid class traders because it will give actual value to their trash, thirdworlders and pseudo whales get fucked unless they invest hard on those rare case skins and craft a knife asap before the price skyrockets again and it will happen because there are only so much commando skins in the market.
I could be totally wrong so feel free to correct me.
