If you started using linux after the compiz heyday then you never experienced peak computing. sorry zoomers.

How do I get rid of these things? I thought after that period ended they would leave me alone.

I'm fucking stupid, I can barely work with windows. Don't want to spend half of my days troubleshooting random shit.

If you used Ubuntu because you couldn't install Debian, do not even speak to me.

It was peak. Unironically the only reason I switched to Linux in 2007, despite almost 0 games working for it at the time.

CDE was its own thing but objectively win98 layout was better back then so KDE went that way.

As both a hydra and lover of SPINNAN CUBEZ compiz is the composite manager for me. The instability? A feature.

Its literally just the wallpaper. Every single other aspect is completely different.
I can't blame OP. It was a pretty popular wallpaper at the time.

That's the neat part, installing ubuntu is easy af. Literally 5 clicks.
But your choice of you'd prefer to stay on windows and take ms cock daily.
>Don't want to spend half of my days troubleshooting random shit.
But doing it to keep using windows is fine, right?

I never understood the obsession with virtual desktops or tiling and all that shit. Just alt+tab like a real man.
Anonymous No.724157184 [Report] >>724157487
>>724156916
desktops are good for alt-tabtabtabtabtabtabtabtab vs
alt 1, alt 2, alt 3, alt 4 depending on whether you want to swap to a messaging app, look at a browser, or change the track on spotify or *other music player here* while on your virtual desktop 4 where you're gaming or working or whatever all without layers of stacked windows

Currently experimenting with going cold turkey from Windows because Microsoft are becoming more and more awful with every OS, so right now I'm running Mint since it seemed the most retard proof

Honestly I'm pretty impressed. Even a dumdum like me could set it up with chatGPT to assist whenever I run into some weird troubleshooting. Say what you will about it but for 99% of shit it will explain exactly what I need to do and its far more tolerable than dealing with Unix evangelists on the forums

All my steam vidya are running great, and I even got Photoshop CS6 running via Wine the other day.

I remember using it when it was called Beryl and I thought it was cool as fuck. Because it was cool as fuck. Even the idea of having multiple desktops was mindblowing at the time (Windows XP days)
I still use Linux now but cannot even imagine using shitty time wasting animations on my computer. My sovl is gone.
