It is good but only as good as Oblivion was in 2006. So unless you just really love spell crafting, there is no reason to play it. Everything it did, Skyrim did better. Maybe if the modding scene for REblivion really kicks off and surpasses Skyrim, if that is even possible, it might be worth playing.

Skyrim was worse in every way. Less weapon variety, less spells, no acrobatics, no athletics, shit boring quests, ruined Dark Brotherhood, ruined Thieves Guild, no Fighter’s Guild, -10/10 Mages Guild, generic grey/brown/blue for 95% of the world, fight a dragon every 5 minutes, fight a Dragur every 5 seconds. This is how i play Skyrim and how i always played it.

>install a mod list that turns it into a survival game
>maybe even a couple rape mods
>no fast travel
>just a merc and not the dragonbitch
>either disable dragon spawns or never pick up the tablet
>roam around murder hobo but actually have a home
>always play sneak thief, archer, sword/board or two hander in heavy armor
>never touch magic not even fucking once
>just wander around and get into shit for about 100 hours
>eventually get bored and quit for a couple years

Sexuality was removed, not just the genders where it was possible, and the removal of stamina from the damage calculation by itself already destroyed builds like hand-to-hand, but they went a step further and removed the finishers it had, also removing the ability to drain all of an enemy's stamina, forcing you to tack on absorption spells. That's effectively worse than Morrowind despite it not damaging health until the enemy's stamina is gone there.

Problem with mage guild was they built up those giga mages and then did fuck all else with them in the entire game, as far as I know we didn't find out anything else about them until ESO and I'm not sure if thats even canon.

Fighters guild was meh, nothing good and nothing bad, only upside is you get the werewolf, but it gets destroyed by the vampire lord when you do the DLC.

Dark brotherhood was a bunch of mentally ill people but they are murderers so goes hand in hand, still when I play through Skyrim I save this guild for last just because I like it.

It was a cash grab. The OG game runs better and takes up less space on your computer than the sloppy, resource hog Unreal engine demake game. The remake also lacks proper mod support, so it's worthless. The only thing the remake does better than the OG game is the level up system.

Lastly, even if you could run it and liked or didn't mind the art style, it's still just Oblivion. Oblivion had a shitton of issues that weren't actually resolved in this remake, most notably the enemy level scaling, quest reward scaling, loot scaling, etc. All they did was change leveling up so that you gain the same amount of attribute points regardless of your skill increases and let you freely distribute them wherever. They didn't fix many of the fundamental issues in the game. If anything it just shows Oblivion is carried hard by nostalgia and modding
