I keep it on because it often helps somebody else climb to the top, like on that last lobby (fuck you, Ikk. I hope you get aids) I often volunteer to get eaten when I know somebody is struggling and won't make it without it.
Being left behind sucks ass, so I often try my best to stick to the group or person that's falling behind.

It is surprisingly difficult to get hungry enough for cannibalism unless you fall a significant distance and only one or two scouts come back for you. 90% of the time I've seen someone get hungry enough to see turkeys, they're intentionally starving themselves with the intent of killing someone. They'll refuse any offers for food and won't even attempt to forage.

It's really only funny when it's a spur-of-the-moment action in a dire situation, not something that was pre-planned from the beginning.

It just seems a bit selfish to me to rely on an accessibility feature for 12-year-olds who get panic attacks over game mechanics to opt out of it. Most of the people I've seen with it off are the type to run ahead of others to pick up food and gear and leave them starving, so it's no wonder they're worried about being eaten. I've even seen someone use the advanced console to turn it on halfway through the game after doing that. It's not contradictory to expect people to be decent most of the time and also to play on the same level as everyone else.

Of course it's always fun to be the bully, it happens on your terms and you get the upper hand. The people you kill have to spend half the game spectating instead of climbing, and they have to start the next stage with a handicap and no items. They probably don't even get a chance to take revenge most of the time, and if they do, you know you had it coming anyway and you're even. Being on the receiving end every time it stops being funny pretty fast. And a special fuck you to those who spawn in items repeatedly until they've killed their target.

That happens when you have both Peaker and PeakUnlimited installed. Dunno if there's a way to fix it but what I do is set the Cheat Marshmallows value to something like half the number of players in the lobby and that usually gives you something close to the correct amount of marshmallows.
