Cecil basically said he got it with literally zero resistance, implying that they took shit too far.
Considering Baigan later speaks to the king behind closed doors about it, it makes more sense for his line here to be a complete dismissal rather than condescension.

This is why all foreign games should support multiple translations in the modern day. Memory isn't a constraint anymore, so they can include all the old translations, a new translation, and the option to patch in fan translations so the player can decide what translation is the best.

I prefer the dialogue in the remaster. Manchildren crying because their fantasy heroes don't talk like saturday morning cartoons anymore is funny. But the text and text boxes are so ugly.

The English line from the original is definitely closer to the JP text. The retranslated versions try to reach out to greater context to clarify something that Baigan isn't even saying. (He might MEAN it, but he isn't letting Cecil know it.)
