What do you think that guy would have added? Fred is the friendly leader, Shaggy and Scooby are the comedy, Velma is the one who actually solves the mysteries, and Daphne gets into trouble so the others can rescue her. There's no need for another guy.

Scooby got multiple solid point and click adventures and an RE clone which only suffered from being way too short.
