Why does mana and other equivalent resources exist in RPG games when everyone agrees that resource management is an unfun mechanic?

Was it really necessary to destroy his career and livelihood just because he had no mana in a video game?

Who is this "everyone?"
It's one thing to have an overly complicated resource system being a tedious chore, but something as simple as managing ammo/energy/cooldowns/whatever is a very useful mechanic to limit overuse of your strongest tools. It creates tight spots when you're low on mana, and highs when you can magdump everything you have into a target.

If you think about it in wow classic nearly all problems come down to running out of mana. I've watched some video and it's so bad to the point paladins are better off using blessing of wisdom instead of might because of mana problems.
Downranking, mp5, spirit gear etc. pretty much all wow vanilla techniques revolve around mana.

Only retards hate resource management, it adds an element of strategy and depth to the games. I know using your brain can be hard but don't ruin the fun for everyone else.
