30 fps feels like native refresh rate? Great now you won't mind if the max you can get is 3 fps. That'll be $5000. No refunds.

Lovely, I've already been using lossless for a while now in conjuction with other things but this should definitely help with any overhead problems, namely shader compilation stutter on winblows. Not the way I would've solved the problem, but its not like the problem was going to be fixed the correct way so I guess using these means to migitate it does help. Anything for consistent frame pacing without interruptions.

Seems so, its a consequence of the market relying on framework engines for the majority of releases and said frameworks being huge pieces of shit that take massive shortcuts to achieve their results, but achieve those results for cheap liscensing so many just go the path of unreal despite the engine's fundamental problems. Like I said, this problem was effectively a non issue on linux and really only a quirk of windows turd slow shader compilation speed causing these frame pacing issues and stutters within unreal in the first place but we live in a retarded world, so enioy your retarded solution. But hey spacewarp is good for other reasons so its like why the fuck not, I guess since these things do at least help edge out more performance out of lower end hardware. I think that's good for consumers overall so its a good thread.

I feel like it is though since its generally lower end hardware that struggles to reach a frame target to begin with but yeah you're not wrong that if I want to play fresh title like even outer worlds 2 or vampires at max settings on a 4080 despite the games both being quite basic and ugly visually will easily demand framegen if I want to keep over 60fps, But I remember having 3070 laptop before any of these solutions were a thing and my native performance was just high enough to get an enjoyable one from framegen had I still owned the device today, meanwhile at the time I would've told you that hardware would have no longer been useful for playing newer games at the lowest settings as UE5 games would net me something like 46 fps lowest 1080p on that laptop, space warp and framegen and I would be feeling far more confident with weaker hardware. Its just nice knowing this stuff means I probably won't have to upgrade for another 5 years.

I'm white actually, but I do have brown friends. Do you have friends? Because if you did you'd realize most people are fucking retarded and have utterly no ability to have sovereignty of thought let alone a sensible standard thus unless you plan on purchasing all the hardware for your friends, you're going to be playing videogames with people who might not always have the best hardware to run the game you want to play with them. I recently bought my friend star citizen for example and there's no way his pc could have ran it with an rtx 3060ti without using framegen. Now cope, because I got to play star citizen enjoyably with someone who had hardware normally too weak to access the title and yet circumvented that anyways. Fuck you, I am cooler than you.

Game run at whatever your fps really is (ie 30 FPS)

Anonymous No.724210878 [Report]

Yea I don't like at all how faggot devs are incorporating often-hidden/unspecified upscaling settings into their minimum/recommended specs. Framegen in particular is absolutely moronic and absurd to consider in hitting a 60 FPS target, regardless of resolution or settings. That doesn't mean the tech is bad, lazy jeet devs just can't make good games and want to use them as a crutch. That doesn't mean taking out that tech would suddenly make them make good games again. A lot of problems with modern games come down to the engines they use and giant studios never retaining talent and outsourcing it all.

that's what they said about DLSS
it was a fucking lie
games got uglier, noisier, and shittier
even playing a new title with a new card gives you awful visuals
games got uglier, more expensive, while evolving nothing on the gameplay side--hair dithering and framegen got slightly better, while the hardware got worse at rendering clear images, more power hungry and more expensive

every advantage of PC as a platform was destroyed once consumers got hooked on the lie of "this tech will let me skip upgrading for longer" justifying higher prices and products full of bullshit

Yes hi, I am the resident spic / beaner of this here board.
Explain your whyte people mumbo jumbo to me.
Namely...

Why is generated in-painting faster than rendering the full room? It does it for every frame for what I understand. As the example shows frame warp draws the scene slightly titled and then fills in the rest. I do not understand how they manage to use more computational power to fill in the scene and this is somewhat better.

Also isn't hit detection managed server side? Is what Nvidia trying to sell is reduced latency client side?
Is there a conspiracy going on where games are now made to be shittier so this AI technology has a place? Isn't this pay to win since it is advertised to people who play F2P games?
Isn't this just terrible for everyone?

All the AI slop is COOL and TECHY but I'd rather see people that care about actual, real advancements in visuals work on programming optimizations for model rendering and lighting then this garbage. Here's something: Every fucking game for the last 25 years has ugly pop in and LODs. Find an efficient solution to this that involves real rendering tech and not AI band aid solutions and you'll probably make 25 million dollars. I wish you luck
Anonymous No.724211787 [Report] >>724211902 >>724212170
>>724211613
My personal guess for a solution for the record is to have an algorithm dynamically generate LODs that regenerate into closer fidelities then the original as the object gets closer to the screen and more visible combined with billboarding for every single object at extreme distances with multiple billboards for important objects covering all 360 degrees in a compass
Anonymous No.724211902 [Report]
>>724211787
AI shouldn't be relied on much but could potentially be used to supplement this if you trained it individually per game on how every object is supposed to look then have it further enhance the visual accuaracy of the billboards and LODs based on its approximations
Anonymous No.724211929 [Report] >>724212090 >>724212314
>>724211613
I am starting to think there is a big pharma plot going on here in which games are purposely made to be resource intensive so we have to buy GPUs for marginal upgrades to feed into the AI bubble.

Example.
Nvidia pays Epic so Unreal wastes a ton of resources and companies are NOT willing to hire the type of talent that could jury rig a fix.
In turn the customer will need to upgrade their PCs, except Nvidia is not improving their designs, just very gradually removing an artificial cap.
Nvidia then sells marginal upgrades and caters to anyone playing competitive multiplayer games, forcing e-sports subhumans to upgrade. Essentially if you are no on Nvidia, you are behind.

Nvidia does not have to actually improve their designs just make one real advancement every generation and then slowly remove the handicap.
