Not if you plan to play in bed.
Also vertical lets you play slow paced games one handed.
Pokemon/Final Fantasy gaming before sleep while being able to switch on which side you're laying down.

Played some retroslop and a few Pokemon romhacks on it then just kinda stuck it in a case on my shelf. If I'm in bed I just prefer fucking around on 4chan or discord or listening to a video. and if I'm out in public I'm not really trying to look at more screen, I already do that most of the day

on the subject of handhelds, can anyone tell me if the AYN Thor is worth? it seems amazing, so much so I’d sell my steam deck (which is basically just an emulation machine for me) to a buddy and buy a Thor
otherwise I might just keep my deck and pick up an Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini

I'm grabbing the Retroid Pocket 5 soon, already building up a library of games to dump on there as soon as it comes in. Hopefully it runs most PS2 and Dreamcast games well. If it doesn't, then I'm fine sticking with PS1 and below.
Anonymous No.724214838 [Report] >>724214925 >>724215046
>>724214750
Your bottleneck for PS2 will be the actual emulators available, Android PS2 emulation sucks because of the lack of work done on it. Dreamcast meanwhile is one running basically flawlessly, anything that's capable of N64 and PSP emulation is probably capable of Dreamcast emulation.

PS2 will probably depend on when in the console's lifespan the game you want to play came out, stuff like Kingdom Hearts from early life will most likely be fine even on the emulators available.

All Retroid had to do was keep making the RP2S and they'd have ascended to godhood, instead it was somehow AYANEO that filled the power vacuum.

They could definitely stand to, the RP Classic is bafflingly stupid with a similar power profile but no analogs. It doesn't have the control scheme for the higher-end stuff it's capable of running, Classic probably should have been a super-budget R36S contender instead of something pretty similar to the 2S but kneecapped by its own controls.

I own like 20 of these things and keep buying more (when they're on sale).

Anonymous No.724220441 [Report] >>724220483
>>724219347
It's not even necessary, they created that problem by not having RA set to store saves on the same folder as the ROM like every other OS before them. It's really only useful if you're a dev and/or retard with two or more of the same chinkheld, to allow you to share configs without breaking.
Anonymous No.724220483 [Report] >>724220660
>>724220441
>same chinkheld
it works across all the H700/supported devices.
you just simply swap around sd2 between them to move saves.
much easier and faster than traditional methods or ftp
Anonymous No.724220660 [Report] >>724220771
>>724220483
Saves, yes. RA overrides, no. Like I said, every other OS just defaults at storing saves on the ROM folder, so by just using SD2 for ROMs you get that AND they're immediately shared between cores so you don't have to manually transfer them. I can only assume they did that for syncthing purposes, never used it.

>every other OS just defaults at storing saves on the ROM folder, so by just using SD2 for ROMs you get that AND they're immediately shared between cores so you don't have to manually transfer them
no they don't. they all use annoyingly different folder names for roms too.
muos's solution just works.

True, I don't know why they don't all follow Batocera's naming conventions or let you set them yourself under ES, but in that case you're also having to rename muOS's anyway.
