Mel is hot (all versions), but she lacks her brother's charisma.
Anonymous No.724209418 [Report] >>724211754 >>724217031
Not a super powerful mary sue who is perfect in every way + the moral arbiter everyone respects and looks up to + actually the chosen one who will fix her brother's mistakes.

Character development is possible and interesting with female characters, but only if they don't start out fully developed and already the center of the universe.

Because women simultaneously claim that they have a superpower that allows them to intuitively detect "dangerous men", only to fall victim to Ted Bundy and others. Men for the most part aren't as delusional.

She's got the facial structure and design of a child, but her portrait has the bodily proportions of a late teen. Was Supergiant just deathly afraid of adding anything resembling a loli to their game?

>you can only like a fictional character if they're a morally upstanding role model!

Most retarded thing anyone could believe. Women should be able to like evil men. Men should be able to like evil women. You must be an incredibly boring person to tell us that all fiction should just be bland and engage in this kind of nonsense moral responsibility posturing.

I think he was referring to real life, because it is a thing. When a person gets with an evil person it usually coincides with: ignoring people's advice to stay away from them, or just being naive and selfish. The most common "I told you so" of the modern era.

>implying
Crazy women was a really popular archetype back in ~2010, the only problem was that there just wasn't a lot of those. It's still mostly an untapped potential territory because it requires at least decent writing for a character and overall writing quality has only receded with time.

le hecking strong female protagonist is gay as fuck. faggots use it as a goalpost/get baited into using it as a goalpost by feminists but it really shoudn't be a goalpost at all.

good female protagonist might be estelle in Trails. I just played the remake and I thought she was a solid female character with flaws and while a bit tropey, she was simultaneously imperfect but capable in battle while discovering her feelings

The worst is a static girlboss superman beating up some chuds then womansplaining to them how their behavior is wrong and harmful to PoCs and how they should correct their actions.

Even girlboss superman is acceptable but the moment i have to exit a game is when the blue-haired feminist starts lecturing people by proxy of their mary sue on how we need to be "better men"

the feminist lecturing/goody two shoes is so cancer but that's all feminists are able to write lol. there's a subreddit called "men writing women" but women writing women is a disasterpiece.

A while ago I tried to answer this question by making a list of every female protagonist I liked and seeing what they have in common and it turns out a good female protagonist must be one of: between the ages of 6-14, an elf, or a furry

Depends on your school of thought
>Checks the box
Make a male character, then turn it into a woman. It doesn't even have to make sense.
>No, no, she needs to conform to female stereotypes and feel recognizably feminine
The plot has to do with motherhood in some way. That's literally it. People will automatically fabricate her character in their heads. Do not, for the love of god, introduce a male love interest. Which leads to:
>No, she needs to be a role model
She's a confirmed lesbian with a fabulous fashion sense who won't even give a man the time of day or a word in edgewise.
