Some real talk here, I'm really curious about the implications of changing Shantae's Hairstyle. The one thing that has been consistent in all games, from the Original, to PC where she had completely unique moveset, to HGH which may as well be an Spin Off by now, and even her DLC in Blaster Master Xero, is her Hair Attack, that the ONE thing that never changes.

Likewise, I'm curious about how Risky is also a prominent part of the announcement from the get go. I hope they actually commit to the idea of making her a full fleshed playable character with the movement options of Pirate's Curse.

Shantae has to be the most frustratingly mediocre metroidvania franchise ever.
It has only two legitimately good games, the original GB game and Pirate's Curse, the rest of the series ranges from meh to wasted potential. Going from Pirate's Curse to Half Genie Hero felt rancid, all that production value wasted on the most dogshit game structure I've ever seen.

I doubt it, but for once I will say the change is above zero, and just for the Twintails to be honest. Those imply a change on Shantae's most basic attack and animation, so even if I don't think it will be the case, it might actually be they way around of adapting her to 3D.

Neat, but I've kind of become less interested in Shantae as the games have gone on. I was a big fan of GBC and then Risky's Revenge, but when it became more stage-focused I was less interested. That's fine for a game, I'm just not as interested in playing the game anymore.

Haven't played Shantae Advance yet, to see how that one turned out.

Eh, I kinda liked the bonus campaigns in HGH, they were pretty challenging and you could play as Risky and she soaked in her bathtub naked between the missions.

Seven Memes was kinda disappointing though, way too easy and too many BS collectibles. Haven't tried the update that supposedly rebalanced everything though, it came out like 2 years later.

In like 2013/2014, when I was still using facebook, I created a fan-page for the Shantae series where I would post extremely inconsistently. Usually fan art, often sexy of course, but I tried not to turn it into a goonslop page.
