I've been playing these games since II and there is still so much I don't understand. I just started looking at the combat lessons section in training mode. Even the intermediate characters are difficult for me. Like how Raph is for people who can predict what move you're going to do then do parries, how the hell do you get to the point where you know what move they're going to do? Autism? Gameplay-wise I didn't care for it much. The controls felt weighted in a way where it was kind of clunky, but the real bitch was that created characters all had stats based on what clothes you had on and it meant that certain CaS characters got royally butfucked by others if you didn't have the right perks & boosted stats.

The only thing that sucks is reversal edge. It's a good way to put the brakes on button mashers but the timing for characters that have more than one input is impossible. The only one I can do is Ivy's BBBBBBBBB because you can just mash. Other than that rock papers scissors is annoying and most people online either don't use it at all or just sidestep. Guard impacts already served the purpose of pushing back aggressive foes.

It's not that hard when you realize you can hit other inputs in between the ones listed. You just do a couple circles with the analog stick, and you can do it during other moves. I like to do it after the heel grind because it gives you plenty of time to input it and the opponent will always guard to stand up.
