I tried to play on the shounic server for a little while but there were a handful of people that voted for the exact handful of awful maps (like freaky fair... normally I like that map but back to back with 100 players??) and just idled, but they had a group of friends queue up so nobody said anything. Then I got banned when I said trannies touch kids.

I literally join random community maps to immediately rtv the map, try to kick some random person, usually a furry, and then hyper focus one specific guy until the map either changes, he gets kicked, or I get bored.

I fucking love Steel too, and it is super over-hated. Once you watch its short demo video explaining the points and grow just two more neurons, it's probably the best A/D map in the game.

Hadal is an interesting spin on steel's design and does some things better and others worse. I would put gorge as the best AD map in general and its only major flaw is how overpowered blue engie is on the last point. I've heard steel's creator is working on more changes but that's just rumors.

Attack/defend is alright, but usually just feels like a more static payload
KOTH feels like a warmup

payload is only popular because it's the only gamemode you can play for long periods of time in casual without the game instantly ending and more or less forcing you to requeue. as a result it became more and more popular in general, so obviously people are going to want to play it no matter where they go. it's what they're used to.
