They add 2000 alt dialogues and unlockable perk based quips but they forgot to make the quests actually branch. Underneath the "deep dialogue system" is a Toddslop linear kill quest that is not actually effected in any way by your actions and your brain notices.

even the ending you can speech no jutsu your companion to die for you but what does it do? Nothing. There is no postgame sandbox you get, it's just the slide that says they die instead of you die. There isn't even a "and so John Worlds faded into legend" endcard for you not dieing instead. All the "work" is hollow and ends up being anti-polish, working against them because it's all to lie to you.

All of these faggots in the thread who didn't play the game aside, yeah it's a fine game. Much better than the first one. Gunplay feels good. Game looks great and runs well enough on my 3080. I have no idea what the story is about though, I skip most of the dialogue and journal entries. The game got a lot harder after the first planet.
Only thing I don't really like is that there's some quests that you HAVE to have levels in certain skills to progress. Oh and sometimes you just slide off of ledges to your death.

The prosthetics aren’t a DEI thing. The point is that the corpos in game have terrible safety standards for their factories so most employees end up losing a limb or two at some point. I don't think the writers actually knew how their plot actually could happen, it's just "Alien meat bad 4 u" instead of the actual pop science reality that many chemical compounds of different atoms can form in a mirror arrangement and we can't actually use many of them biologically.

Their bigger problem is that THE EXACT SAME THING would be happening in game2 if this is such a pressing issue of space travel that like the iodine is wrong and people are dieing like victorian peasants. The equally dumb thing is chemistry isn't forced to make our version or a different version, if one exists in the environment you can usually do a simple highschool chem lab substitution reaction to make the other. In the first game the writers wrote an existential threat that was readily addressable, then forgot about it in the next one where it'd still happen. Especially when you cheap hacks HAVE THE SAME ANIMALS IN THE SECOND UNIVERSE because... uh... reasons! and half of them like sprats are the stated source of outer worlds 1's malnutrition.

Is everyone missing some "actually you're supposed to come back to do this later at lv30" element to this retarded fucking game design? Why did these two named meth heads have more health than the final boss of the game between them? The quest reward for why i'm here is going to be 340 spacecaps like every single other side quest. Quests don't have levels or even a [hard] marker, how obsidian would you sus out before entering this room that there are two guys with 3000 health and super armor at the end of a gauntlet of oneshottable enemies?

is a stealth playthrough viable if you are playing on hard or very hard?
The only enemies so far I've been able to one shot in stealth were some drones.
Sneak attacks on creatures do like 5% damage so it's completely useless in the wild
On humanoids so far a melee sneak attack barely does 25% damage, can't do the stealth kill animation because they are always "too stronk". Stealth shots also dont deal enough damage to matter.
I feel like just reducing the difficulty, the enemy becoming giant bullet sponges when you get 2 shot becomes very obnoxious

anything above normal isn't balanced and neither is normal. I tried it for about 5 minutes before writing it off. You can 2 tap headshot human fodder enemies with a sniper rifle from stealth but out of stealth all guns do a tenth of the damage on max difficulty and enemies will oneshot you instead of 4 shot you. Any enemy with an armor bar would be a retarded slog to kill; with the stealth bonus you're removing like a tenth of just the armor followed by doing nodamage/second out of stealth.

It just will get worse later into the game. This was clearly a gun upgrade grind loop like the previous game but they changed it last minute to the flat gun/stealth damage increases without playtesting to realize that enemies were either are too weak or have walls of health that invalidate all game mechanics but magazine size.
