If you were to make a Mt. Rushmore of female characters from video games, who would you objectively put on it?
By parameters like sheer importance to the hobby, sex appeal, how "cool" they are, who would you pick?
Lara Croft, though she's fallen off in recent years, HAS to be up there.
She's kind of prototypical female action hero.
Samus would be another one, right? I'd say she's nearly as iconic, though she doesn't have much personality.
Chun Li would be another solid pick, but again, not much of a personality, at least as far as the games are concerned. I know animes and the like have built her up more.
What about the final one? Has Bayoentta earned it? 2B? Jill Valentine? Ada Wong? Cammy? Ivy? Tifa?

I want to pick tifa, but she hasn't had enough good games. Peach is a respected N rep, same as Princess Zelda, but neither is playable enough. Jill is outshone by Chun li for capcom. Misty/Katsumi from Pokemon is also not playable enough.

After that it's a toss up. Zelda, peach, Samus, Lara, and maybe Sakura or Chun Lin might be okay. Personally I'm not sold on including so many Nintendo's. Let's shake things up with adding one Nintendo waifu. Lara is good for western rep, nix Chun li, keep reimu or another 2hu. Then add roll. I think it's hard to come up with a video game character with a pedigree as widespread as roll. That's a wide gammut of inspiration and art that I don't think the fighting game characters can match. We're talking kodomo tv anime prime time here.

problem with metroid character is that a lot of people played her not knowing she was female, a sort of twist reveal for players.
