The shooting isn't groundbreaking, but it's very competent. It's pretty much impossible to die instantly, unless a full squad catches you out in the open. So fights are much more dynamic then something like tarkov, but that also means if you run into a squad that outgears you they can kinda just hold m1. Positioning, utility usage, and game sense are all probably more important than shooting. PVE is fun, all of the robots pose a threat and drop decent loot, so you don't feel like you're being punished when you're forced to fight an NPC.

Overall, fun game. Hard to say if it has legs, because there's 0 esports angle. Compared to games like tarkov where you can just instantly die out of nowhere, this game is much more casual friendly.

So it's not $60 but then again it's not really got anything to justify that price long term. I think the reason why Arc Raiders has buck broken /v/ so badly is that it's a well rounded game without glaring flaws. The kind of "greater then the sum of its parts" game that we don't see very often anymore.

The only things to complain about are the customization options and pvevp aspects- which is especially funny, because chuds are also the first people who would jump at the opportunity to call you a faggot for caring about dressing up your character, and a pussy for caring about losing your virtual loot.

PvP is not my main issue, though. It's the fucking bots. Sometimes you see armored enemies or a bunch of drones flying around the place where you need to extract. And considering how extraction mechanics work in this game, that makes it even harder.

The difficulty I had with Tarkov was players with much better gear than me and the absence of something as basic as a map. While it has far more accessible QoL (acessible map, waypoints, no need to sip from water bottles to recover hydration and guns don't randomly jam on you), this game is brutal for different reasons. There is no chill

One thing I found about Arena is that you rarely engage with people, and you generally hear them coming from far away if you play patiently and silently. I have almost 20 hours in that game and nothing in it so far comes close to the level of stress and difficulty as Arc Raiders. That has been a far more relaxed experience for me.

That is vast over-exaggeration. If you just camp all the time, you get no loot and you'll never be able to complete any mission, therefore you make no progress. I'm a cautious player and I tend to play defensively, but I still take my chances. You always have to at some point, and Arena is a type of game that suits my play style well.

it's artificial progression to slow you down and make think you are working for something. cheap trick that everyone is going to wake up to eventually.

in reality crafting is nothing more than a pity system. tarkov didnt have crafting for the first 3 years and they only introduced crafting as a "fix" to the problem they themselves invented with the "find in raid" mechanic.
