I know, it begs the question of why even fucking bother with this. You know what I want? New IPs. I have to remind people of this; there was a LotR anime that came out last year and it was about Helm Hammerhand, it was a home run concept, and what did they do? Made his daughter who is not a feature of the story the main character, and made another strong female protagonist who doesnt need no man story, and it was completely unwarranted. This is cultural vandalism. Someone came in and wrote over what someone else made to tell their own story. Fuck this shit and anyone who does it, if I was a creator and people did this to my work I would be fucking pissed.
They are making a show for themselves, not to do the best job they can at portraying the source material, which in this case, is a few pages, which means there is a lot of interpritation, of which, NONE is written by Tolkien, its written by spastic hollywood writers who do lines of coke of underage prostitutes and take baths in money while making deals to fuck over their friends to get a shot at the big time, these people are not the people who can write a soulful narrative because they themselves are tainted. LotR being in the hands of Amazon is such sad irony that it could never work.

Part of me believes that these people actually want to do a good job, they are just really fucking shit at it and the wrong people for that job. Examples of this is when they try to write like Tolkien and you end up cringing, they know what the idea of the writing is and what it makes them feel, and they think that if they write like that, but they are not him, and its plainly obvious in their writing.
