How do we solve the Pokemon problem. I'm losing hope we will ever experience the era of when the games were good, the cards were good, the movies were good, the anime. People just keep buying them anyway, it's getting really bad out there.

Just accept that the franchise is too popular to fail hence too popular to try or put effort into it when everyone already accepts the lowest standards.

For me, my passion lies with Pokemon TCG. The card game is still doing really well so I am happy with Pokemon. I am sorry to hear about how the main-line games are doing though.

The TCG is the only thing that's good about Pokemon anymore. The only issue is the scalpers are treating Pokemon cards like stocks. Hopefully the fad dies out soon but I don't see how it could at this point.

2-5 were good games with serious issues. There was nearly a decade of fumblea after 5, but the last three games are 'good but ugly and glitchy', like the ones you wish they were like.

Pay attention, okay? There's nothing you can do. Game Freak isn't going to change the proven formula as long as they keep making bank, because at this point they can shit in a bag and slap a Pikachu sticker on it and it'll still sell because it's fucking Pokémon. So here are your options:
>Option 1: accept that nothing is going to change, wash your hands of Pokémon, and if you really want to play a monster collecting game, try the ROM hacks or another franchise
>Option 2: stick around like a battered housewife and futilely hope that Game Freak will suddenly decide to change for the better, because you've GoTtA hAvE yOuR pIkAcHu!
You want more options? Tough titties, those are it. If enough people choose Option 1 then MAAAAAAYYYYYYBE things will change, but as long as the majority are choosing Option 2, why should Game Freak fix what clearly isn't broken?

it could work, but they need to make them all animated and spritely, there needs to be interaction with most objects, you need to be able to go into all the buildings, they need to take the 2D and make it 3D. they keep acting like it will just happen automatically, it takes so much effort. Pokemon is like the holy grail too, you can just do that effort once and reuse assets like crazy and it will be fine. I hate modern fans buying the lazy trash anyway.

I quit Pokemon for about 6 years and when I got back into it recently I had a lot of fun. I have no standards and eat slop with more gusto than a starving pig, but I suppose sometimes that's a blessing in disguise, I can enjoy almost any game.
Anyway bring back the artstyles they used up til the end of Gen 7 (and a bit of 8).

I want a product (Good pokemon games). They used to make that product, but have stopped to make a new product (Bad pokemon games). Even though other people may be satisfied with the new product, it is not what I want. In a fair market, I would be able to get the product I want (Good pokemon games) from a different developer, however, nintendo has used lawfare to stop other developers from making that product.

The transaction between pokemon and fans who like the new product is not the one I take issue with, I take issue with the legal action pokemon makes towards other companies which effects me.

This is a meme, Gen V is the worst-selling main titles but only by a slim margin. Gen 3-7 all sold about the same number of copies (Gen 4 being somewhat of an outlier).
The Switch games expanding Pokémon's audience such that the old ceiling of 15 million is the new floor and the new main pairs are selling >27 million is what's broken people's brains. Pokemon was never that great, I don't think. I feel like Pokemon had a chance with the GameCube games. The anime lost its plot after Johto; making Ash dumber and lose exp. I can't think of anything that good about this series outside of the first season of the anime, colosseum and XD

Yeah the excuses are pretty pathetic. The fact that Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is the 5th mainline Pokemon game on Switch and sold 27million when other big sequels like Zelda Tears of the Kingdom or Super Mario Bros Wonder only did 22m and 18m. The Pokemon games aren't just selling well, they're outperforming other big Nintendo IP sequels.

Because that is how the original games were. You could go into the buildings and talk to all the characters. it's how you got access to all kinds of extra things, like the in-game trade pokemon, different items and tm's, useful hints and tidbits, ect.

Saffron City and Goldenrod City did not let you enter every building. Vast majority of buildings in Celadon were inaccessible. Also design has to change to SOME degree with time, even if what you were saying was true, which it isn't.

Everything you described is still in the games, you just get them from talking to people who are not in buildings generally.

Making every building enterable in a modern game does nothing but hurt scope. Look at Skyrim.

Out of all the leaks/rumors about gen 10, the thing that has me weirdly excited for some reason is flying through the skies in winds and surfing the waters in waves. I just really like it when each version does something noticeably different rather than just exclusives mons and I haven't noticed any gen since 5 do anything really cool like that. Normally, I'd be excited for Southeast Asian inspired jungles but people were excited for a Spanish region in Paldea and look how that turned out so I'm tempering my expectations there.

Either you go into other series or fanmade stuff. Money talks even more than "complaints" so unless someone is willing to do a terrorist attack against pokemon or Pokemon actually begins to fall massively out of favor in lieu of "replacements" then nothing will change and those who run it see no reason to change it cause it works.
