I mean, it is kind of disjointed nonsense. We are just constantly presented with a ton of absurd and insane things like "underperforming children are used as material to make school supplies" and "sometimes we just turn humans into giant ticks" or "all humans but the protagonist are clay ChatGPTs" without the reason or the logistics of it being explained- there are obviously deeper meanings there but in-universe a lot of the world of Psychopomp is just this crazy insane place where a ton of absurd shit is constantly happening, and a lot of it isn't even explained. You can meet the essence of nature screeching at you, you find a flayed person playing in a bathtub full of blood, you can at any moment find a lot of insane things that just go unexplained.
I don't mean it as a critique, I love the genre of game that's like walking around talking to some weird guys who say and show some crazy absurd shit to you.

No, I do see the general theme, Psychopomp is topnotch in theming, Venus' dialogue in the school is one of my favorite ever. I meant that it isn't necessarily coherent in terms of like, pure in-universe worldbuilding? I don't think it is something you have or even should look too hard at but the pace the game introduces new and wilder things at you made it feel a bit disjointed to me; like, the protagonist doesn't have a clear plan or sequence of things to do in her head, she's just going to a bunch of completely random places vaguely associated with the government and she finds those underground complexes almost by accident.

Mercury has a nail, so maybe he could throw it? Or stab it into an enemy to hold it in place.
Psychopomp's original gameplay was most sophisticated around enemy attack patterns, like that guy with the flamethrowers- enemies whose rhythms you need to figure out. It isn't very good at it, I'll say, that enemy that conjures a circle of energy that pratically instakills you is pretty shitty since there's zero time to learn, but it's a place they focus on.
I imagine that if they want to make Mercury different from Venus, he needs to be sneakier- something that rewards you for attacking from the back? Venus is very physically powerful, her enemies explode into gibs, she busts down walls and smashes everything her way until she finds her answers. She's a loose cannon, but Mercury is a weapon held by the Family. He is more precise- he could throw his nail and be given more of them with special abilities by his employers. A nail that deals DoT damage while the enemy has it in the body, a nail that you're supposed to hurl like a spear, a nail that you stab into a surface and then it explodes with a delay

Psychopomp Gold was the most boring fucking game i've ever played. Literally just wandering around giant empty levels and then backtracking for a hour doing some dogshit combat just to be rewarded with more asinine schizobabble dogshit like Golden Light. Literally the ONLY selling point of this game is the main character being sexy but then the game pounds you in the ass with constant abortion themes and she's a planet.
I also heard Psychopomp 2 wont have her as a MC so there is no reason to get it.
Gold edition added a bunch of pointless fucking rooms with zero relevance to the story and zero interactivity besides one retarded jumpscare.
