The third movie was ok but overrated, it would have actually been good if they still didn't have a stick up their asses about what they're adapting.

Very close to being absolutely kino, but those little pockets of obvious disdain for what the fans REALLY wanted (kids watching would have been fine with "I'M THE EGGMAN" playing in the vault scene or some shit too) set it back in my eyes. Better than 1/2 but that was mostly because even the skeleton of SA2's plot is good and they wrote out the niggers for most of the film, no doubt 4 will have 2-3x the nigger scenes and some girlboss cringe.

They should just adapt Super Mario Bros Z instead

you have to understand these movies aren't being made because of genuine faith in the brand, they're being made because jim carrey remains one of hollywood's biggest draws yet is hyperbolically selective of what projects he works on.

Yup, GODnic website.

Sonic 3 pulled way too many punches. I don’t think it did justice to Shadow’s story or the Sonic mythos overall.

Maria should have been terminally ill, the G.U.N lady should have been Rouge in disguise, and Sonic’s dad should have died.

Gerald still being alive worked surprisingly well though. I do wish they bothered to explain it in the movie.

Adding onto this, having Maria be familiar with earth’s culture was dumb.

While she did still die, the tragedy of her death was way more than the simple fact of it; she died without achieving her dreams or ever getting to live a normal life. Reducing it to “shadow had a cool friend that died” severely lessens the impact
