I liked Panam, but more as a comrade/partner in crime like Jackie was than a romantic interest. Her sudden interest in V after a full storyline of not showing any sign of being into him romantically and not entertaining any of V's advances was jarring.

A 15 year old would find it harder to self insert as a 28 year old. Because at that age it seems eons away. V was written as 23 and was retconned last second into being 27, before the release. As in after the 2nd delay in 2020.

We know this not just because in the 2018 demo it was shown that V is 23 but also because the Korean VA stated when the voice directors instructed him to get into character that V is only 23 years old and his reaction was "Wow so young, I need to adjust my delivery". And since the Korean VA was the last voiceover done on this game due to cancellation and the resuming of the voiceover this means the decision was made AFTER the entire game was written, voiced and its characters modeled.
