yeah this is my main complaint, the enemies are genuinely really stale and also annoying because their sound effects and indication for much of what they do is unexistent. Specially after getting addicted to a shooter game that encourages you jump straight to the fray and echolocate 10+ different enemies at the same time, its annoying playing roboquest where some no-sound-effect enemy can chunk you with slow moving noiseless projectiles. Or one of these bullshit mines. Or almost anything trying to make you slow down and chore through the level more. also agreed on the arena encounter design and shit
in a way i agree its incredibly overhated and i dont think its that good, but im still pretty glad for its success and review score. specially after i started making games it got clear that something like roboquest takes an absolutely fucktarded ammount of effort to make and i hope theyre paid well for it, and i honestly have faith in their next game being potentially much better
