It taught me sometimes the uglier fruit/veggie actually has more flavor. IIRC an eggplant that has scars doesn't mean it got bruised and damaged, but that it grew so fast the peel couldn't keep up, so the scars are actually stretch marks.

I guess you can kind of count Isekais where the protagonist tries to get the natives understand fermentation, so they can find some crop that can produce some version of onions sauce. And kind of how to build a functioning society.

In Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-, the MC tries to establish an economy to the town he built in a pocket dimension. And How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom teaches a bit about Macroeconomics and Politics.
